Understanding Dropshipping: The Gateway to Your Dreams

Drop shipping is a business model that allows you to sell products to customers without the need to carry inventory or handle shipping logistics. It’s the ultimate solution for aspiring entrepreneurs seeking a low-risk entry into the world of e-commerce. With Google’s guidelines serving as your North Star, you’ll be equipped to create a robust foundation for your drop shipping venture.

  1. Choose the Right Niche: Find a specific market that’s both popular and interesting to you. Use tools like Google Trends and Keyword Planner to see what people are searching for.
  2. Reliable Suppliers are Key: Pick suppliers with a good reputation to ensure your products reach customers on time and in good condition. Google can help you research and read reviews about potential suppliers.
  3. Build a Great Website: Create a user-friendly online store that looks good on computers and phones. Make sure your product pictures and descriptions are high-quality and the checkout process is smooth.
  4. Write Informative Blogs: Share your expertise through blog posts related to your niche. This not only establishes your authority but also boosts your website’s visibility on Google.
  5. Optimize for Search Engines: Use relevant keywords and descriptions on your website to make sure it shows up when people search for products like yours on Google. Tools like Google Analytics help you see how your site is performing.
  6. Connect with Customers: Engage with your audience on social media and through email. Providing excellent customer service and encouraging reviews will help build trust.
  7. Adapt and Grow: Stay updated on industry trends and adapt your strategy accordingly. As your business grows, consider expanding your product range and exploring new marketing opportunities.

How much money did you make in the first month of dropshipping?

I don’t remember the first month exactly, but it was not that much. After a few weeks, I got a lot of accounts and Investment from clients. Then I made about $4k to $5k per month on my side just from Amazon drop shipping in 2022. We were doing sales of more than $100k per month (the account was old) with an average 20% profit on average.
Then in 2022 Q4 amazon did crack against drop shippers and ceased all accounts. We were also suspended as a result, but we recovered all our Investment in March 2023 as we were a legit business.

This was just a long story short:

Now, I am doing eBay and Walmart drop shipping Just on my own accounts. eBay is slow but Walmart is amazing by the way. I collectively make a profit of $2.5k per month (from 1 Walmart store+ 2 eBay stores) and this is a good amount, as I just work 2 hours a day.

No doubt drop shipping is a good skill, even in 2023, but it must be learned as you face a lot of challenges on daily basis. You need to hire good VAs and must be a good manager to make some good money from drop shipping (Hire VAs if you don’t have enough time but must have control of your business).

Is drop shipping on Shopify easy?Dropshipping success and growth in e-commerce entrepreneurship

Dropshipping on Shopify can be relatively easy compared to other ecommerce platforms, especially if you use apps and tools to automate some of the processes involved.

Shopify has several apps and integrations that are specifically designed for drop shipping, such as

  1. Keyword Planner
  2. Oberlo
  3. Spocket
  4. Modalyst

These apps allow you to easily import products from a wide range of suppliers and automate many of the tasks involved in managing your drop shipping business, such as order processing and inventory management.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that drop shipping on Shopify still requires some effort and attention to detail in order to be successful. You will need to spend time researching and selecting the right products and suppliers, optimizing your store for search engines, and promoting your business through marketing channels like social media and email.

DropShipping or Affiliate Marketing. Which is more profitable?

It depends on the individual business and situation. Dropshipping is often seen as a more hands-off approach and can be more profitable if you are able to source products at a lower cost and maintain a high level of customer service. Affiliate marketing can be more profitable if you are able to build a large following and promote products that are in demand.

Which is better for drop shipping in 2020, Google Ads or Facebook Ads

When it comes to drop shipping in 2020, both Google Ads and Facebook Ads have their advantages and disadvantages. The answer to which one is better depends on various factors such as the products you’re selling, your target audience, and your advertising budget.

Google Ads can be a powerful tool for driving traffic to your dropshipping website as it allows you to target potential customers who are already searching for your products or similar products. With Google Ads, you can use targeted keywords and optimize your landing pages to increase the chances of conversion. However, the cost per click (CPC) for Google Ads can be high, and there is often intense competition for keywords in certain niches.

Facebook Ads, on the other hand, are ideal for building brand awareness and reaching potential customers who may not have been actively searching for your products. With Facebook Ads, you can use precise targeting options such as interests, behaviors, demographics, and location to reach your ideal audience. Additionally, Facebook Ads tend to have a lower CPC compared to Google Ads, which can be beneficial if you’re on a limited budget. However, Facebook Ads are often less effective at driving immediate sales compared to Google Ads.

In summary, the best option for drop shipping in 2020 depends on your specific situation. Here are some factors to consider:

  • Consider your target audience: If your audience is more likely to be searching for your products on Google, then Google Ads might be the better option. If your audience spends more time on social media, Facebook Ads might be more effective.
  • Think about your budget: If you have a limited budget, Facebook Ads might be a more cost-effective option, while Google Ads can be a good choice if you have more money to spend.
  • Look at your competition: If there is intense competition for keywords in your niche on Google Ads, you might want to consider using Facebook Ads instead.

Examples of drop shipping businesses that have had success with either Google Ads or Facebook Ads include:

  1. Google Ads: A dropshipping store that sells pet products might use Google Ads to target people who are searching for specific pet products such as dog food or cat toys.
  2. Facebook Ads: A dropshipping store that sells clothing might use Facebook Ads to target people who are interested in fashion and lifestyle-related topics.
  3. Both: A drop shipping store that sells a variety of products might use both Google Ads and Facebook Ads to reach potential customers from different angles.
